What is your career goal?
I've always harbored a strong desire to establish my own hospital laboratory specializing in emergency care.
How has your experience at RIT/NTID prepared you for your career?
Through my time at RIT/NTID, I gained extensive lab experience, including the opportunity to develop my own research project focused on synthesizing and isolating a seizure medication.
What was your co-op employer name and location?
My co-op was at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA
If applicable, what was your position at your co-op and what were the role’s responsibilities?
I worked as a laboratory assistant, carrying out various lab tasks and assisting my mentor with his research. His project inspired me to start on my own research journey.
If applicable, how did your co-op relate to your studies at RIT/NTID?
The Laboratory Science Technology program at RIT/NTID places a strong emphasis on hands-on experience with lab equipment and instrumentation, distinguishing it from other majors. By the time I began my co-op, I was already proficient in working with the necessary software and instruments, thanks to the comprehensive training provided by the program.
