Submit your Newsmaker

“Newsmakers” acknowledge the professional and academic accomplishments of RIT students, faculty, and staff, such as publishing an article in a scholarly journal, presenting research at a conference, serving on a panel discussion, earning a scholarship, or winning an award. Newsmakers appear in News and Events as well as the "In the News" section on faculty/staff directory profile pages.

Please fill out the form below to submit your accomplishment for consideration in News and Events. Submissions will be edited for space, clarity, accuracy, and style.

During the academic year, Newsmakers submissions may take several weeks to appear. Please reach out only if more than 15 days have passed without seeing your line item, as items are promoted in the order received and occasionally prioritized at editor discretion.

Include all links at the end of your submission, including a link to your directory page, and ensure your name and position match your official profile.

Please describe the achievement in 2-3 short sentences. Include the honorees’ name, title/year, and affiliations (college, department, and/or program), as well as any relevant URLs. Ex: Jane Smith, professor of marketing, and James Student, a fourth-year new media design major, presented “This is an example of a Newsmaker” at the annual Marketing and New Media Conference on Sept. 1 in San Jose. Smith and Student’s research focuses on demonstrating the different elements of a Newsmaker submission.
