I recently joined Havas Media Agency as an Intelligence Manager, where I analyze data from multiple sources, including primary and secondary research, to uncover actionable insights that answer the critical “so what?” for our clients. Previously, I spent several years at Protobrand, a boutique behavioral science market research consulting firm, where I honed my skills in understanding consumer behavior and turning data into strategic recommendations.
During my time at RIT, I had the opportunity to participate in co-ops, research projects, and conferences. Experiential learning opportunities such as co-ops allowed me to explore what I did and didn’t want to pursue professionally. I not only was able to make my education more valuable by applying the knowledge that I was learning to real-world settings, but I was also able to narrow down the list of careers I wanted to pursue. This was critical for me coming from a degree where there were so many different professions that my skills could translate into.
Having the ability to present at and attend conferences gave me firsthand insight into research as a career and showed me that my work had an impact. These experiences sparked my curiosity and guided me toward professions where I could continue to research and leverage my undergraduate background alongside my research skills that were honed in my master’s program. Without these experiential learning opportunities, I’m not sure I would have discovered the field of Consumer Insights.
