Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has a strong, multifaceted partnership with RIT that includes an undergraduate 2+2 program, graduate study opportunities, and collaborative research with faculty.


$20,000 Scholarship
Receive a $20,000 annual scholarship when you start your undergraduate degree at VIT and finish at RIT.

2+2+1 Undergraduate Program

2 years at VIT

Complete two years of studies at VIT, at VIT's tuition rate.

2 years at RIT

Transfer to RIT* and go right into program classes of your major. You'll graduate with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from RIT.

1 year of paid work

Possibilities differ by program, but all partnership programs are OPT/CPT and STEM Extension eligible.

*To be eligible, you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or above and be proficient in the English language. The number of years required to complete a program at RIT varies by the program. Most programs can be completed in two years. Confirmation of total credits to completion can be confirmed at the time of admission. Connect with your admissions counselor for questions.

Graduate Education Opportunities for VIT Alums

  RIT offers 50+ STEM-designated graduate programs, all of which are eligible for OPT extension for up to three years.

VIT students who have, or plan to complete, a bachelor's degree are also able to benefit from the RIT/VIT partnership. Enroll in an MS program at RIT and, upon completion of your program, you will receive your Masters of Science (MS) from RIT.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Completion of an approved undergraduate program at VIT
  • Excellent academic record - demonstrated ability to succeed in an RIT MS program
  • English language proficiency
