Adventures of Book Publishing Lecture
The RIT graphic design program's Graphic Design Week provides students opportunities to engage in lectures, hands-on workshops, and experiences that enhance their skills and thinking as creatives.
A series of events are open to the public, including a lecture by Adjunct Faculty Rachel DiNunzio '11 (illustration) titled "Adventures of Book Publishing."
About the lecture

Rachel DiNunzio is an award-winning children’s author and illustrator all about kindness, creativity, and empowerment! Her book collection features a variety of titles from her Forsynthia children’s graphic novel series to The Adventures of Olive the Chameleon Cat, Scarlet’s Symphony, and about 20 other early readers, picture books, and educationally published titles. DiNunzio’s mission is to foster a love of reading, to encourage independent thinking, and to help all children reach their highest potential. DiNunzio is a passionate creative educator at RIT, where she feels so lucky to help the next generation of creatives find success in their creative careers.
In this lecture, attendees will receive behind-the-scenes looks at how DiNunzio got her career going, how she developed a series-based character, what it’s like to work on graphic novels, early readers, and picture books, working in educational, self, and indie publishing, and more. After the talk, DiNunzio will be available to answer any questions about publishing.
