A collaborative project that led to the creation of a commemorative plaque and bronze sculpture of famed performer William Warfield will be officially unveiled during an open-to-the-public event.

Faculty, staff and MFA students from RIT's School of Art worked on the initiative with the William Warfield Scholarship Fund, NTID Senior Lecturer Thomas Warfield, University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music, the City of Rochester and nationally recognized artist Shawn Dunwoody. The RIT contingent teamed with Dunwoody to create the sculpture honoring William Warfield.

The reveal event is set for 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, in the Miller Center Courtyard of the Eastman School of Music (26 Gibbs Street, Rochester, N.Y.).
