Convocation for New Students introduces them to academic life at RIT and will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 3 p.m. This is an opportunity to welcome our new students to RIT's vibrant scholarly and creative community. The convocation features an academic procession, recognition of the faculty, welcoming remarks by Dr. Sandra Johnson, senior vice president of Student Affairs, and Lucas Randrianarivelo, president of Student Government. Dr. Amanda Bao, Associate Professor, College of Engineering Technology, and recipient of the 2020-2021 Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching, will serve as the keynote speaker. RIT's President Dr. David C. Munson, Jr. will formally accept the new class of incoming students. The Tiger Walk will precede the ceremony at approximately 2:15 p.m. Both events will be live streamed on the New Student Orientation website. Please note that masks must be worn by all in the Gordon Field House & Activities Center.
