About the artists
Jennifer Schoonmaker explores ideas that are both meticulously planned and the playfully absurd. Modified industrial objects, recycled furniture, and unexpected material allusions all serve as conduits of transformation in literal and metaphorical senses. Schoonmaker is currently Visiting Lecturer in the College of Art and Design at RIT, and previously taught courses at SUNY New Paltz.
Using sculpture as a palimpsest, Christina Leung repurposes fragments of fabricated and preexisting objects, and interrogates how interior spaces represent them as functional, ornamental, or as catalysts for new conversations. Leung is currently Visiting Assistant Professor in the College of Art and Design at RIT, and was previously instructor at Ithaca College, and a former White Columns curatorial assistant.
