RIT Academic Affairs AI Leadership Sprint for Department Chairs & Leaders
The RIT Academic Affairs AI Leadership Sprint is the launch of a year-long initiative to understand the status of AI in teaching and curriculum at RIT and to develop cogent policy that is sensitive to the needs of our faculty and students and reflects the expectations of different academic disciplines and professions.
Rather than prescribing one institutional answer to AI, the Sprint will equip our academic leaders with shared foundations and adaptable tools so every program leader can feel empowered to support more informed conversations, meet faculty where they are -- from enthusiasm to caution -- and move toward thoughtful, values-driven, discipline-specific action. This sprint is aimed at RIT Department leaders, with some additional selected invited participants. Beginning with the sprint, we will lead with intent on AI, focusing our efforts on mission and values alignment, stakeholder needs, ethics and co-created policy that reflects insights at multiple levels of academic affairs.
Department chairs: Please choose one of two options and register to attend. If you are not available to attend one of these options, please ask someone from your unit to attend in your place; it is expected that every department will have representation or as a last option recordings of the virtual sessions will be available for viewing.
AI Sprint Schedule- Pick one option and register to attend by Sept 14 for the Sept 18 session or by Sept 21 for the Sept 22-24 sessions.
Both cover the same three sessions.
