The Advantage Federal Credit Union Endowed Scholarship will help some Rochester-area students with the cost of tuition at RIT.

Aiming to put higher education within reach of more local students, Advantage Federal Credit Union is committing $100,000 to a scholarship fund in partnership with Rochester Institute of Technology.

The Advantage Federal Credit Union Endowed Scholarship was created to help students attending RIT from Monroe County or an adjacent county with the cost of tuition. Students must be enrolled at RIT full time, demonstrate a need for financial assistance and maintain good academic and judicial standing.

“This scholarship is one of many things Advantage does to support education in the Rochester community,” says Jeffrey Bocach, president and CEO of Advantage Federal Credit Union. “We were founded in 1931 to serve teachers of the Rochester City School District and we understand how important it is to support the educational community, which has supported us for the last 80 years. We hope to see the recipients of this award go on to graduate and become successful contributors to the Rochester community.”

RIT’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will administer the program, and a minimum of two scholarships will be awarded annually.
