Altay judges packaging association awards

Bilge Nazli Altay, assistant professor in packaging and graphic media science, was among the distinguished judges for the Flexible Packaging Association’s 69th Annual Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards. The ceremony recognized outstanding innovation and sustainability in the flexible packaging industry. Altay joined industry leaders in evaluating 226 entries submitted across multiple categories and highlighted the role of diverse printing methods—flexography, gravure, and digital—in pushing the boundaries of visual quality and production versatility. Her insights emphasized the continued innovation seen in both high-volume and short-run applications. This year’s competition focused heavily on sustainability and advancements in print technology, with over 70 percent of entries addressing environmental impact.
