Be prepared for RIT Alert test
RIT will conduct a test of the RIT Alert emergency notification system at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 27. Please ensure your contact information is up to date. Students should review and update their information in the Student Information System (SIS), and faculty and staff should review and update their information in Workday. A mobile phone number is the preferred contact method.
How RIT Alert Works
RIT Alert is designed to quickly notify the campus community of imminent threats to the health or safety of students, faculty, and staff on or near the Henrietta campus. These may include severe weather that could lead to class cancellations or the suspension of on-campus activities, fires or threats of violence. RIT Alert messages will provide information about the emergency and any immediate actions the RIT community should take.
Following the initial RIT Alert, additional information will be shared via email, RIT Facebook, RIT X, and the RIT website.
An all-clear message will be sent to RIT Alert once the emergency is resolved.
Report an Emergency
Keeping the RIT community safe is a shared responsibility. If you experience, witness or become aware of an emergency or imminent threat of violence on campus, contact RIT Public Safety immediately.
