Expanding Open Recreation Opportunities

For the remainder of the spring semester, the Student Life Center is expanding open recreation opportunities for individual and distanced group activities among students, faculty, and staff.

The following spaces are available for low-risk activities on a first-come, first-served basis until May 5. Availability is limited due to COVID-19 safety guidelines and precautions, as well as other standing reservations.

Turf Field* and Tennis Courts

Hours: Monday-Friday: 6 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday: 1-9 p.m.

COVID-19 Safety Rules:

  • Individual or distanced group activities only
  • Bring your own equipment
  • Limit exposure to shared equipment
  • No physical contact activities
  • Stay at least 10 feet apart from others
  • Other activities permitted on a case-by-case basis
  • Occupancy is posted on-site

Main Gym, Mini Gym, and Upper Level Dance Studio

Hours: Friday: 6 p.m.–9 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday: 2 p.m.–5 p.m.

COVID-19 Safety Rules:

  • Individual or distanced group activities only
  • Bring your own equipment
  • Limit exposure to shared equipment
  • Limit your time to one hour or less
  • No physical contact activities
  • Stay at least 10 feet apart from others
  • Other activities permitted on a case-by-case basis
  • Occupancy is posted on-site

Student Life Center Elevated Indoor Track

Hours: Monday-Friday: 6 p.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday: 2-5 p.m.

COVID-19 Safety Rules:

  • Maximum occupancy is 15 – check the live occupancy counter before you go to the Student Life Center
  • Check in and out with your RIT ID at the top of the stairs
  • Stretching mats available for individual use on the perimeter of the track
    • Student Life Center Staff will sanitize the mats as needed
  • Walking and running side-by-side is prohibited

Mark Your Calendar

The Fitness Center currently located in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center will be closed from May 6-16 and will re-open on May 17 in the Wiedman Fitness Center.
