Figer visits Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency

Donald Figer, professor in the College of Science, visited the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. Figer toured research facilities and met with scientists working on astrophysics missions and advanced UV, optical, infrared, and multi-wavelength technologies to better understand current and planned capabilities and explore opportunities for collaboration. At both institutions, Figer delivered a presentation on single-photon-counting CMOS imaging detectors for astrophysics applications, including their potential role in the Habitable Worlds Observatory.
