Heckman and team win California Rebuilds Design Competition
Nathaniel Heckman, visiting lecturer in the Department of Architecture, was part of a winning team in the California Rebuilds Design Competition. The team, representing Golisano Institute for Sustainability, the University at Buffalo, and Wendel Companies, earned top honors in the Craftsman-style category for their innovative “ReCraftsman” home. The design preserved the familiar scale and character of the region while refining the form and details to meet future climate needs.
