Interim associate dean of College of Imaging Arts and Sciences named

Twyla Cummings, Paul and Louise Miller Distinguished Professor in RIT’s School of Print Media, has been appointed interim associate dean of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

Cummings’ new role took effect Dec. 1. She will serve in this administrative role until a permanent dean is hired and completes a full-year term. Currently, a national search is underway. A new dean for the college is expected to be named in August 2010. Frank Cost is currently serving as interim dean of the college.

Cummings previously served as the graduate program chair in RIT’s School of Print Media. Her research focuses on the areas of media distribution and printing industry trends. She is a frequent speaker on critical trends in post-press and issues impacting the graphic communications industry. Cummings is a past board member of the National Association for Printing Leadership and is a member of the prestigious Walter E. Soderstrom Society.
