Mahapatro presents at Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Conference
Sriniwas Mahapatro, assistant professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance, presented his paper “Does Systemically Important Bank Status Affect Loan Performance” at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s annual bank research conference. His research focuses on how regulatory policy of explicitly identifying systemically important banks could result in moral hazard on the part of the banks and can worsen the ‘too big to fail’ problem of large banks.
