Mathai and Schulze publish in Journal of Proteome Research
Diya Mathai ’25 (bioinformatics) published “ProtPen Combines Sequence- and Structure-based Approaches to Facilitate Protein Function Predictions on a Proteome-wide Scale,” in Journal of Proteome Research, with Stefan Schulze, assistant professor of biology. The paper aims to predict the function of uncharacterized proteins by comparing not only their sequences but also their structures against databases of proteins with known functions.
