Museum Studies students present at 2022 Undergraduate Research Symposium

Students in the museum studies program shared their research on cultural heritage imaging, preservation, and research by participating in the Undergraduate Research Symposium. Etta Arnold, Alana Bourgeois, and Izzy Moyer presented their papers which were completed under the supervision of Dr. Juilee Decker (Director of Museum Studies) and Dr. David Messinger (Imaging Science Program). Their posters focused on the imaging system developed by the interdisciplinary team led by Decker and Messinger and funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, tools for addressing the new knowledge that comes from the discoveries made with this system, and ways to share this information with the public. Third-year MUSE major Izzy Moyer, for instance, researched the use of digital tools like ArcGIS for the purposes of learning and engagement and created a StoryMap of several of our projects. The Undergraduate Research Symposium was held on campus on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Selections of student research from undergraduate capstones may be found on RIT’s digital repository ScholarWorks.
