Photographer Platon Antoniou to Present “Portraits By Platon” Lecture at RIT, Mar. 18

Former Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton are among the familiar faces captured by the camera of Platon Antoniou. The London-born photographer will share the stories behind the images during the Charles Arnold Lecture Series, sponsored by RIT’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences.

The presentation is at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Antoniou’s photographs have been exhibited around the world in such prestigious locations as Hamilton’s Gallery in London, Spiral Hall in Tokyo, and the Carla Sozzani Gallery in Milan. In May, his first solo show in New York will open at the Leica Gallery, featuring his documentary work from around the world.

In his lecture at RIT, Antoniou will present some of his finest portraiture, including his famous shot of Bill Clinton that appeared on the cover of Esquire. Other photo subjects include Rudy Giuliani, Larry King, Al Pacino, Benicio Del Toro, and Yoko Ono.
