Postdoc researcher publishes on burdock root in Frontiers in Pharmacology
Postdoctoral researcher Danae Kala Rodríguez Bardají led a study published in Frontiers in Pharmacology investigating greater burdock (arctium lappa) as a potential source of antibacterial natural products. The collaborative research team included Samantha Tran, a bioinformatics BS/MS major; Lily Fagan, a neuroscience student; and Gabriella Fedus, a biotechnology major; and André Hudson, dean of the College of Science. The researchers found that burdock leaf extracts showed activity against several bacterial pathogens.
