Ristic awarded for dissertation

Marko Ristic ’24 (astrophysical sciences and technology), working with adviser Richard O’Shaughnessy, associate professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, received an Honorable Mention from the International Astronomical Union for his dissertation, “Leveraging Machine Learning for Bayesian Inference of Astrophysical Transients Using Detailed Simulations.” The prize recognizes the outstanding scientific achievements of astronomy Ph.D. students worldwide.
