RIT Announces Graphic Arts Training Partnerships

Plan Calls for RIT Seminars to Be Offered in Milwaukee and Philadelphia

New partnerships with Milwaukee (Wisc.) Graphic Arts Institute and the Gress Graphic Arts Institute in Philadelphia will bring Rochester Institute of Technology imaging and printing production seminars directly to printing professionals in Milwaukee and Philadelphia.

Under the agreement, RIT Corporate Education and Training will offer its Lithographic Troubleshooting seminars this spring at the two graphic arts organizations with additional programs planned for the fall. One of the most popular seminars that CET offers, Lithographic Troubleshooting looks at the six basic steps of troubleshooting, its tools and techniques, identifying problems, and creating solutions.

"We’re honored to do this," said Lauren Baker, director of MGAI. "I’ve heard RIT faculty speak at conferences, I’ve seen literature about all the courses and programs and I’ve sent our instructors to RIT to receive additional training."

"This is a wonderful opportunity—RIT stands out as one of the key educational resources in the nation for printers," said Robert A. Theisen Jr., director of GGAI.

The benefits of holding RIT seminars at these locations are many: companies will not incur travel costs, employees who are critical to their companies’ operations can easily stay in touch with their workplaces, and all of the attendees will get to learn with a group of their local colleagues.

Each year, CET offers a full suite of more than 50 leading-edge seminars, ranging from introductory graphic arts training to advanced production-oriented printing technology, at its campus in Upstate New York. More than 3,000 participants worldwide attend seminars at RIT.
