Rochester resident Ivan Kenneally, assistant professor of political science at Rochester Institute of Technology, has been appointed to the editorial board of Perspectives in Political Science, an international academic journal focused on political theory and philosophy.

He will serve as consulting editor and assist in developing issue themes and reviewing submissions for publication. Previously, Kenneally collaborated with journal staff to edit symposia on philosophers Peter Lawler and Sam Huntington.

“I am extremely honored to be selected for this post,” he says. “Perspectives on Political Science is a well-respected academic source in political theory and I look forward to working with the journal staff to broaden understanding of political thought and its impact on modern government and public policy.”

Kenneally joined the RIT faculty in 2006 and focuses his research on modern political theory, including the works of Chantal Delsol, Leo Strauss and Alexander Solzhenitsyn, and its impact on American politics. He has written and spoken widely on a variety of topics in political science and his work has been featured in The Political Science Reviewer, Policy Review, Society and The New Atlantis.

Prior to RIT, Kenneally was an instructor at SUNY Geneseo and the Eastman School of Music. He has a bachelor of arts in philosophy from SUNY Geneseo and a Ph.D. in political science from the New School for Social Research in New York City.
