Samad leads research on sustainable 3D printing filaments
Wael A. Samad, chair of the mechanical and industrial engineering department at RIT Dubai, guided the study "Mechanical Property Characterization of Virgin and Recycled PLA Blends in Single-Screw Filament Extrusion for 3D Printing," published in Polymers. The study about exploring recycling and sustainable filament production was co-authored by RIT Dubai students Reem Aly, Fisoye Olalere, and Mozah Alyammahi, and RIT student Aaron Ryder.
