Student receives national scholarship

Natalie Labbe, a fourth-year chemistry major, is the recipient of a Marion B. Sewer Distinguished Scholarship for Undergraduates Award from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. This highly competitive national award offers financial support to students who demonstrate an interest in biochemistry and molecular biology and enhance the diversity of science. Labbe works in Associate Professor Lea Michel’s lab on understanding the detailed intermolecular interactions between crystallin proteins from the eye lens.
