Student wins prestigious award for research paper

The Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) has announced that RIT Print Media (MS) candidate Chandramohan Seetharamiah Srinivasaraju is the recipient of the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Graduate Student Paper Award.

Seetharamiah Srinivasaraju, who prefers to be called Chandra, is finishing his graduate degree in the School of Media Sciences. His paper, completed under the direction of associate professor Greg D'Amico and Gravure Endowed Professor Robert Eller, is entitled A Comparison of Conventional and New Technology Gravure Cylinders in Terms of Image Quality. It is based on his extensive thesis research.

The TAGA board of directors selected Chandra’s paper for the prestigious award from a pool of submissions from graduate schools worldwide. 

Chandra will travel to the annual TAGA technical conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in March to accept the award and formally present his paper. He will be accompanied by a contingent of multidisciplinary students from RIT's TAGA student chapter who will represent RIT in a student journal competition, which includes leading schools from across the United States, Canada and France.

Chandra is also planning on presenting the results of his research at the forthcoming Gravure Association of the Americas Global Summit in Clearwater, Florida. He is currently working a co-op at the RIT Print/Postal Hub.
