Submit your Newsmaker

“Newsmakers” acknowledge the professional and academic accomplishments of RIT students, faculty, and staff, such as publishing an article in a scholarly journal, presenting research at a conference, serving on a panel discussion, earning a scholarship, or winning an award. Newsmakers appear in News and Events as well as the "In the News" section on faculty/staff directory profile pages.

Please fill out the form below to submit your accomplishment for consideration in News and Events. Submissions may be edited for space, clarity, accuracy, and style. You will receive a confirmation email from once your submission has been reviewed. Please note that the volume of submissions varies during the year, so response times may take days to weeks. Accepted submissions are posted on a first come, first served basis.

Please describe the achievement in 2-3 short sentences. Include the honorees’ name, title/year, and affiliations (college, department, and/or program), as well as any relevant URLs. Ex: Jane Smith, professor of marketing, and James Student, a fourth-year new media design major, presented “This is an example of a Newsmaker” at the annual Marketing and New Media Conference ( on Sept. 1 in San Jose. Smith and Student’s research focuses on demonstrating the different elements of a Newsmaker submission.
