Zemcov joins NASA mission

Michael Zemcov, an assistant professor at the Center for Detectors and School of Physics and Astronomy, is the Instrument Scientist for the Mid-Infrared Sky Explorer (MISE) mission study that NASA recently announced it will fund through its Astrophysics Science SmallSat Studies (AS3) program. Among the proposed science, MISE will address the NASA Science Question “How does the universe work?” by measuring the total brightness from all sources of emission since the Big Bang at mid-infrared wavelengths.
