Aid supervisor in the field of Early Intervention American Sign Language (EIASL) learning opportunities statewide
through creating lesson plans based on teaching experience; developing instructional images, materials and videos through agency software programs (i.e., iMovie, Photo Booth, et cetera); teaching classes, giving presentations during workshops; using EIASL’s LMS online courses, assessing learning and effectiveness. Provide EI families with opportunities to identify and facilitate their child’s subtle communication attempts and evaluate their child’s strengths in communicating; identify appropriate assessment tools supporting language development. Support the child’s development of language, communication and self-identity through visual language, ASL. Help to increase the family’s ability to successfully communicate with their deaf child through the use of sign language.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in American Sign Language (ASL), Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education,
Deaf Education, Special Education, Human Services, Deaf Studies, or Linguistics from an accredited institution:
experience preferred in the use of ASL, linguistics/language development, early childhood development, childhood
disabilities and at least 3-5 years’ experience working with infants and toddlers and young children; Native ASL user
preferred. Master’s Degree may be substituted for years of experience.
