ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of LIFESIGNS:
1. Oversees the LIFESIGNS department
2. Attends and participates in a wide range of activities promoting and marketing LIFESIGNS to the local community.
3. Works closely with the LIFESIGNS Operations Manager
4. Submits bids, recruit, interpreters and update contracts.
5. Develops interpreting contracts and bids, Works closely with the CEO on pricing.
6. Handles all incoming and outgoing correspondence
7. Prepares reports for funding sources
8. Attends public workshops to benefit the LIFESIGNS Department
9. Reports to the CEO on operations and activities on a weekly basis
10. Performs such tasks and responsibilities as may be delegated.

1. Undergraduate degree and fluency in American Sign Language are required.
2. Experience as an ASL Interpreter is desirable.
3. Must have background knowledge of various laws and programs benefiting and protecting the rights of deaf persons, such as Department of Rehabilitation regulations and Social Security policies, ADA, etc.
4. Supervisory experience is required.
5. Must possess the ability to function in a team environment and be a resourceful team player. Must be a flexible self-starter and detail oriented with strong organizational skills, written communication skills; well versed in public presentations, the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, sometimes with competing deadlines.
6. Demonstrated ability to perform professionally in a fast-paced environment, be reliable and punctual, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
7. Have excellent interpersonal skills and be capable of maintaining a cooperative relationship with co-employees, directors, employers, community members, other agencies and the CEO.
8. Must be flexible in working remotely from home and in the office until employees return to a full-time office schedule.
9. Must have reliable transportation and maintain up-to-date auto insurance.
10. All GLAD employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID.
