We are seeking a ASL Interpreter to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Corporate Operations and Total Force (SEA 10).

Specific duties include:

Provide quality ASL-spoken English interpretation in a timely manner.
Maintain adherence to the RID Code of Professional Conduct:
CPC - Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (rid.org)

Support managing the ASL interpreting schedule and reports to various customers
Mentor and review work of novice interpreters
Services will be rendered in a highly technical environment as part of a contract team supporting NAVSEA at the Washington Navy Yard.
Support will be delivered as a mix of in-person and virtually, with potential for domestic and foreign travel.
Position is full-time.

Requirements:

BA/BS Degree in ASL Interpretation
5+ years experience as a currently RID Certified interpreter working in a fast paced, technical settings.
Strong voicing skills
Experience with solving difficult, complex ethical problems involving consideration of multiple issues and job areas
US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance
Preferred:

MA/MS Degree in ASL Interpretation
5+ years of working in a Business/Government setting with highly complex technical jargon
