The NTID Learning Center (NLC) is a deaf-friendly, accessible learning environment open to members of the RIT community. The NLC provides student-facing services such as access to computer workstations (PC & Mac), tutoring, Resource Desk Lending Program, and the Multi-purpose Video Lab. The NLC Assistant is responsible for maintaining an optimal learning environment and is trained in a hierarchy of operational tasks, such as, assisting users with computer workstations and printers; loaning resources; assisting with individual, group and class reservations; maintaining a communication log; and performing COVID-related cleaning duties. The NLC Assistant may also be involved with preparing web and other promotional materials for the NLC, such as flyers, social media blurbs and computer screen backgrounds. The NLC Assistant reports to the NLC Staff Assistant. Hours: M – F; 8:30 – 5 pm Week: 40 hours Pay - $13/hour Requirements: Exemplary customer-service skills as evidenced by previous work and/or volunteer experience. Able to use computers (PC & Mac), printers, copiers, laminator, shredder, calculator and Zoom for work. Strong organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). Preferred skills: Experience with web and publication software as evidenced by examples (hard copy or links).
