Alana Smith, a Rochester Institute of Technology graduate, is among the first Peace Corps volunteers to serve overseas after an unprecedented two-year Peace Corps evacuation from more than 60 countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On June 2, Sara Smania, assistant director of RIT/NTID Alumni Relations’ mentoring program, hosted an alumni gathering at Buffalo RiverWorks in Buffalo, New York, where fellow alumni met and socialized with new and old friends and learned more about programs and engagements.

Three RIT/NTID alumni, Mia White, Ethan Ettienne, and Otto Kingstedt, and one current student-athlete, Krystyna Miller, will travel to Caxias do Sul, Brazil, to participate in the 24th Summer Deaflympics, May 1-15.
