  • Using eye-tracking technology Frances Cooley, assistant professor in the Department of Liberal Studies and lead researcher in the Reading and Deafness (RAD) Lab, will study how deafness impacts vocabulary knowledge and the emergence of reading efficiency, thanks to a grant from the National Institutes of Health.   • An NSF Astronomy and Astrophysics grant led by Jason Nordhaus, professor in the Department of Science and Mathematics, will allow for deeper study of rare binary systems that his team previously discovered, using some of the planet’s largest telescopes to precisely characterize the systems.

October activities kept us all very busy – Brick City Homecoming, Alumni and Foundation board meetings, NAG meeting, the Career Fair, the Big Shot, the hilarious production of “The 39 Steps,” and of course, the inauguration. Thank you to all of you who participated and attended the ceremony.
