October activities kept us all very busy – Brick City Homecoming, Alumni and Foundation board meetings, NAG meeting, the Career Fair, the Big Shot, the hilarious production of “The 39 Steps,” and of course, the inauguration. Thank you to all of you who participated and attended the ceremony. From the planning to the day itself and beyond, the warmth and positive energy that radiated in Panara and Dyer made the day a special one.

I would like to note some upcoming things on the horizon:

The process for the NTID Strategic Journey has begun. So far, I have presented what the process will look like and the timeline to NAG, AACC, and NFC. In the next few weeks, people will be asked to serve on the four strategic pillar groups with the work beginning in January.

I had the pleasure of meeting people on our advisory boards and groups. One resounding message from each one of them was how they could be more engaged and how they could work collaboratively. Because of this, I am currently rethinking the structure of how our advisory boards and groups work together.

Finally, we plan to implement the NTID AI Taskforce to provide guidance on how NTID should lead within the AI space related to how AI impacts deaf education, access, and the workplace. More details are forthcoming.

You asked, and I’m answering! Here are a few of our students’ most burning questions.

Fall is a very busy season for the Admissions team with travel, open houses, and more.

We are in discussions to establish and strengthen collaborations with countries around the world and organizations here in Rochester.

We are thrilled to report an anonymous $750,000 cash gift to support several programs. Three new exhibitions in the Dyer Arts Center are ready to be viewed.
