January 5, 2026
Zoe Kerns
Zoe Kerns ’27 (medical illustration) created this illustration detailing the anatomy of the facial nerve’s different branches in her Illustrating Human Anatomy course. The facial nerve controls several facial muscles and includes sensory and parasympathetic functions. Completed for a head and neck anatomy assignment, the piece also visually depicts the parotid gland, which the facial nerve travels through.
