Why did you decide to attend Saunders College of Business at RIT?
Getting my MBA at Saunders gave me a unique opportunity by allowing me to continue working while taking my MBA classes. Which isn’t very conventional, but RIT embraced that and allowed me to learn and network, which has been instrumental in getting my business recognition.
In what ways has Saunders/RIT prepared you for the job market?
The biggest change I saw in myself was this boost of confidence in myself and my work. Saunders encouraged me to connect and meet as many people as possible. These connections have been invaluable to me in building my company. My professors and peers still refer business to me, and I work with my former roommate at my business every day. Those interpersonal connections that I had the opportunity to make at Saunders enhanced my entire experience.
What do you feel is the most distinctive advantage gained from your Saunders experience?
A fantastic partnership of Saunders College of Business is called the Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and it focuses on building entrepreneurial skills in students. I frequently worked through that program in conjunction with Saunders and often found myself presenting business ideas to groups of CEOs with just 48 hours' notice. These challenging situations, supported by my professors and mentors who had full confidence in my success, pushed me to work harder and step out of my comfort zone.
What do you do?
I am the founder and president of Linden Digital Marketing, a digital marketing firm in Rochester, New York. I frequently hire Saunders students to either work or internet my firm because I trust the knowledge and preparation Saunders has granted them.
How do you pay forward both your career experience and knowledge from RIT?
I attend many alumni events to connect with students and share insights from my experience. Additionally, I hire many current or recently graduated Saunders students because I know they are talented and well-prepared.
