Visual Storytelling

This is an exercise in visual storytelling.

Students are asked to illustrate a simple household task, such as making a sandwich or lacing a pair of shoes, in only three steps.

First, the student must determine the three most essential steps in performing the task (it's a lot harder than it looks!). The student then renders the steps clearly enough to teach someone who has never performed the task.

This is excellent preparation for surgical illustration in which medical illustrators "teach" surgeons new procedures they have never done before.
