The Society for the Protection and Care of Children (SPCC) was founded in Rochester, N.Y., in 1875, and yet there are many people in the city who are not familiar with the organization. RIT will launch a new yearly tradition this week when students, faculty, and staff gather Friday for the first Together RIT: A Day of Understanding, Solidarity, and Racial Reconciliation. Registration closes Oct. 19 and is required to ensure a seat for desired sessions.

Jenny Kron ’15 was 37 years old with three kids and a mortgage when she enrolled in RIT’s diagnostic medical sonography program full time. Prior to that, she ran an at-home daycare for 13 years. Now, she is running her own successful mobile ultrasound business called Hey, Baby! Mobile 4D Ultrasound.

James Albano, a researcher/engineer at RIT’s Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science, has launched a project funded by the Department of Energy to develop remote sensing technology that could have applications ranging from assessing earthquake damage to determining soil moisture for predicting crop yield.
