All Your Visa Questions Answered Here

Admitted to RIT? Confirmed your admission? Got your I-20?

Confused about the Visa process? Well, here is a detailed outline of your next steps regarding the Visa process.

1. Pay SEVIS fee:

The first step for booking your visa appointment is to pay the I-901 SEVIS fee. Pay the fees at https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html using your credit card. The I-20 issued to you by RIT contains all the details required to fill this form like your SEVIS number and the school code. Remember to save the receipt since it is required during your visa appointment.

2. Complete DS-160 form:

Next, complete the DS-160 form. The DS-160 form includes basic questions like the applicant's personal details, education details, work experience, etc. Make sure the details exactly match with those on your passport. To complete the DS-160, you will require the SEVIS number from the I-20. Again, you will need the confirmation page for your visa interview. Remember to save it! 3. Schedule your visa appointment:

To schedule your Visa appointment, create your account at https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ and fill in the required details. Once you complete the application, you will be navigated to the payment page where you can choose one of the payment methods to pay the fees. Once you pay the fees, a payment receipt is automatically generated on the payment page. This process takes around 2-4 business hours. Once the payment receipt is generated, you can book slots for OFC and Visa appointments. Remember there should be at least a day gap between your OFC and your Visa appointments!
