CANCELLED: Brown Bag Faculty Lecture: Dave Sluberski

Please note that this event is cancelled

Dave Sluberski, senior lecturer in RIT's School of Film and Animation, is presenting as part of the College of Art and Design's weekly Brown Bag Faculty Lecture Series. His talk — titled "To Mix it, You Must Built it!" — is scheduled for noon to 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in room 2100 of MAGIC Spell Studios.

You might know Sluberski from his portrayal of John Dolby (“billionaire inventor and part-time auto enthusiast”) from the film “The Legend of Tom Kodak,” produced and directed by RIT Motion Picture Science students.

He was a consultant on the design team for MAGIC Spell Studios for all state-of-the-art sound facilities. Through his company, West Rush Media LLC, he has produced, designed and mixed audio for a wide variety of broadcast media and digital distribution networks, including independent feature films and documentaries. WRM clients include the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, WXXI Public Broadcasting Council, University of Rochester and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, as well as independent filmmakers.

His many awards include the coveted George Foster Peabody Award (1994), as well as numerous Telly, Gabriel and NYS Emmy awards. In addition to his RIT and WRM work, he was a track leader for the second Light Sound Interactive Conference in Rochester in 2019, which brought in multi-time Grammy Award winner Leslie Ann Jones from Skywalker Ranch as a keynote speaker.
