An Introduction to LGBTQ+ Identities

RIT's Visual Arts-All Grades (Art Education) MST program is hosting a virtual presentation by Lori Cramer of The SafeZone Initiative, a group of LGBTQ+ educators working to create inclusive and intersectional spaces by empowering active allies.

The online talk is scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19 via Zoom: https://rit.zoom.us/j/91432816358. It is free and open to all.

The presentation provides participants with a general understanding of LGBTQ+ identities. Trained Speakers Bureau members will share their personal coming-out stories. They will discuss basic terms and vocabulary, including the distinction between sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. This format encourages dialogue and provides ample time for participants to ask questions and get honest answers in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
