Investigating Circadian Rhythms and Pubertal
Development as Risk Factors for Depression in
Youth

Adolescence has been often characterized as a developmental
period of various transitions. Previous work has indicated that
during adolescence, there is an increase in prevalence for
depression. This presentation will identify various
developmental processes and how they may confer risk for
depression in youth. Taking a developmental psychopathology
approach to examining the emergence and maintenance of
psychopathology, Dr. Haraden aims to build understanding
of mechanisms through robust analytic methodologies and a
focus on measurement.
