Students and faculty of RIT’s College of Art and Design are leading the Representation Matters: Media Imaging and Stereotyping workshop as part of the Levine Center to End Hate's "Brave Spaces" online event. From noon-5 p.m. on Sept. 13, the community organization is hosting a series of free workshops and panels that examine issues of racism, antisemitism and other forms of hate. The event aims to facilitate education, dialogue and positive action.

The RIT-led workshop is scheduled for 2:15-3 p.m. It will focus on the role images play in reinforcing and/or breaking stereotypes and bringing together artists, scholars, students and community members. Learn more and register here.

The student panelists — Aria A. Dines (Film and Animation and Illustration) and Joy Anderson (Film and Animation) — will be joined by faculty moderators Mari Jaye Blanchard (School of Film and Animation), Mark Reisch (School of Film and Animation) and Catherine Zuromskis (School of Photographic Arts and Sciences).
