Into the ROC: Flower City Pickers

Event Image
To the right of the image, boxes of watermelon, bananas, and tomatoes are stacked on top of one another. At the top of the image, the event name is written with a tomato leaf to its left. Underneath the title is the information for the event.

Join Into the ROC while we volunteer with the Flower City Pickers. The Flower City Pickers volunteers come to the Market on regular Market days, year-round, to collect surplus produce donated by generous vendors. They sort and weigh the produce, and deliver it to community organizations, and even to farmers for livestock feed or compost! These industrious volunteers collect over a ton of produce every week (and sometimes over two tons).

The Pickers rescue food at the Market that might otherwise be thrown away, and thus help the Market meet its mission of getting good, affordable food into the hands and bellies of the community!

Vans will leave the Sentinel Statue promptly at 11:30am! Please note: All volunteers must wear a mask when inside the Flower City Pickers building until further notice. Masks are optional outdoors if you have been vaccinated.
