Associate Professor Amanda Bao brings extensive experience in building bridges and strong connections to students to her classroom, and she is being honored with a 2021 Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching.

Ammina Kothari, an associate professor and program director in RIT’s School of Communication in the College of Liberal Arts, is receiving an Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching this year, RIT’s highest honor for tenured faculty.

Professor Mark Fairchild, head of the Integrated Sciences Academy and director of the Munsell Color Science Laboratory and the program of color science in RIT’s College of Science, received the 2021 Otto Schade Prize, which recognizes vision scientists, human factor engineers, and engineers whose efforts have led to major improvements in the visual quality of electronic displays.

Kellen Dorchen, a computer science master's student has been awarded a GEM Fellowship to complete his degree. As part of the fellowship, Kellen will receive full tuition and a stipend for his remaining 3 semesters of study at RIT. He will also work this and next summer in an internship at MITRE.

Dan Johnson, professor of packaging science; Ian Mortimer, vice president for Enrollment Management; and Steven Carnovale, assistant professor of supply chain management, discuss the importance of offering majors that ensure successful outcomes while meeting the ever-changing needs of a new, and evolving, economy.

This year’s recognition of RIT’s Alfred L. Davis Distinguished Public Service Award winners will be a double celebration, as faculty and student recipients from 2020 and 2021 are honored April 13. Luane Davis Haggerty will receive the 2021 Four Presidents Distinguished Public Service Award, and Bhuvish Mehta will receive the 2021 Bruce R. James ’64 Distinguished Public Service Award. Thomas Warfield was awarded the 2020 Four Presidents Distinguished Public Service Award, and Çlirim Sheremeti was awarded the 2020 Bruce R. James ’64 Distinguished Public Service Award.

RIT/NTID presents “She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms,” for four performances, next Friday through April 18. While the audience will watch virtually, the actors will be performing live in several “actor stations” in Lyndon Baines Johnson Hall and its Robert F. Panara Theatre.
