    Emma Edgar, a first-year human-centered computing student from Albany, N.Y., attaches tags to Valentine flowers. The RIT Dancesport Team did presales for two weeks with pickups and deliveries scheduled for Valentine’s Day. This was their first time doing the flower sale, with proceeds supporting the student dance club.

    Into the ROC, operated by RIT’s Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement, arranges trips to museums, galleries, and unique restaurants and businesses where students can experience the Rochester community and find places to volunteer. Here, they visited the George Eastman Museum, the foremost museum of photography, in the historic estate of George Eastman.

    On Dance Day, hosted by the RIT Dancesport Team on Feb. 6, students could get lessons and learn about the various dance clubs on campus. They included Vis Viva, RIT Ballroom, Velocity, Tango, Latin Rhythm, Pandemic Step and Dancesport.

    The Packaging Science Career Fair, held in the Gordon Field House Feb. 3, gave students an opportunity to meet with companies for co-ops and full-time jobs.

    FreezeFest ’22, a 10-day celebration of winter with several outdoor and indoor activities, kicked off with a free skate in the Gene Polisseni Center rink with Chocolate on Ice on Jan. 28. Chocolate treats were available during the event.

    NTID Senior Lecturer Thomas Warfield delivered the keynote address at RIT's annual Let Freedom Ring event celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

    The second annual Women’s Leadership Summit took place on Jan. 30 in the Student Alumni Union and Campus Center. Hosted by The Leadership Academy at Saunders College, 300 students, faculty, staff, and community members attended the event, which aims to inspire, connect, and educate women and allies to become tomorrow’s leaders.

    Henry Louis Gates, a Harvard professor and host of the PBS TV genealogy series, Finding Your Roots, speaks at the 40th Expressions of King’s Legacy in RIT’s Gordon Field House.

    Rehearsals are underway for In the Heights, a musical conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Principal Lecturer in NTID Department for Performing Arts Luane Davis Haggerty. The play won a Tony Award for Best Musical in 2008. Performances take place in the Panara Theatre April 15-17.

    The Gene Polisseni Center hosts open skate for RIT students, faculty, and staff noon-1:30 p.m. Thursdays through March 31. Tickets are $5 and are available at RITtickets.com.
