Earth Day Waste Audit at RIT

Students to examine campus garbage

** DUE TO WEATHER, EVENT POSTPONED UNTIL FRIDAY, APRIL 25**

Rochester Institute of Technology will hold an Earth Day "waste audit" to measure how much recyclable material is being recycled on campus. The audit, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 25, involves sampling RIT waste from various locations. Facilities Management Services and the Student Environmental Action League will conduct the audit near the Tiger statue on the quarter mile between the Student Alumni Union and Wallace Library on the academic side of campus.

Currently, 32 percent of garbage, measured in tonnage, is recycled on campus, up from 10 to 12 percent a year ago.
