    RIT Vice President Emeritus Alfred Davis showcased his knowledge of RIT and its history in a talk to the community, Sept. 17, discussing RIT's early history and those who helped make the university a reality. In his time at RIT, Davis served four of RIT's presidents and is a graduate of RIT's Class of 1941. The presentation was sponsored by the Nathaniel Rochester Society.

    RIT's Wildfire Airborne Sensor Program (WASP) will see national exposure on an upcoming episode of ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. Computer engineer Jason Faulring operates the infrared sensors that can detect fire from 10,000 feet. Project leaders are Donald McKeown and Michael Richardson. The story will run on ABC News some time before the end of the fire season in October.

They were among 13 first-year, women engineering majors at RIT for the Kate Gleason College of Engineering’s third annual “I Built My Computer @ RIT" workshops, Aug. 5-8. Students built computers that became theirs to keep and stayed in residence halls. Workshops were supported by Microsoft Corp.
